Top Tips to transition holistically from Winter to Spring

As we are approaching the end of Winter, this month’s blog theme is SPRING and AWAKEN!

This time last year, I created a holistic programme to ease out of winter and lockdown. This 4 week programme included yoga, meditation, recipes, coaching and New/Full Moon ceremonies to awaken and re-ignite your mind, body and soul. The seasons have a direct effect on our health, affecting us mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Not only that, the seasons affect the balance of the element inside each of us.

Spring is the seasons of rebirth, renewal, and regrowth. We move from the darkness of winter (yin) into the light (yang). As you have probably noticed too, the Earth is waking; the trees are blossoming, the daffodils and snow drops and in bloom too. The energy that has been laying dormant is finally starting to rise and in a few weeks we will have the Spring Equinox.  There’s a sense of renewal in the air; spring flowers and warm earth tease our senses and the blackbirds return to the gardens where they were born.

Just like the seasons it’s important that we align our bodies holistically with this energy in order to benefit from the natural vibrancy of the season.  This is a time for cleansing and letting go of any stagnant energy that’s accumulated over the long Winter months.  It’s a time for projects and for love; for the beginnings of all things new and wonderful.

Top Tips to transition holistically from Winter to Spring:

  • Use yoga to move your body to help release tension that may have built up over the winter months. Move the body to increase blood flow and prepare the body for awakening and renewal

  • Step outside and connect to nature. Being in nature can help us feel mentally and emotionally restored. Connecting in nature increase creativity and productivity

  • Use essential oils in the home to energise. Citrus oils like lemon, grapefruit and orange are energising and cleansing

  • Clean/Cleanse your space. Spring is a great time to clean the house in preparation for brighter, fuller days. Clear out the old to make room for the new. Use sage or palo santo too for an energy cleanse.

  • Find your playful energy – wake up your body. Move out of the cold and restful period of winter and find expansion. Create play and fun in your life.

  • Massage – use massage to stimulate your circulation and lymphatic system to give your body a boost and get the body flowing.

If this has resonated with you and you feel you would benefit from creating a programme to help with your transition into spring, click here to book a coaching consultation to find out how I can help.
